We proudly service southern Maine veterinary communities. Through the Timeless Veterinary Community™ telemedicine platform, we connect our communities with Timeless Veterinary Systems imaging specialists from both near and far.
The Doppler Effect was established with a lot of heart, a bit of luck, and a healthy dose of chutzpah in 2022.
Having served for many years in the local GP and referral environment of Southern Maine, we know what you need.

Lee Gregory DVM
Dr. Gregory has been practicing veterinary medicine in Maine since 2008. She has been performing ultrasounds throughout her veterinary career, and considers herself lucky to have had the mentorship of several expert local ultrasonographers (Lee Garrod DVM, DACVECC; Karin Wagner DVM, DACVIM; Bob O’Brien DVM, DACVR). As the traveling ultrasonographer at The Doppler Effect, she performs complete cardiac and abdominal ultrasound studies on cats and dogs. She maintains a strong interest in general practice, and still “pulls shifts” in the ED at an area referral hospital.

Bryan Bottorff DVM, DACVIM (cardiology)
Dr. Bottorff received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue University in 2008. He then completed a rotating small animal internship at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and began his Cardiology residency at Oregon State University in 2009. Dr. Bottorff completed his residency and obtained board certification by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in Cardiology in 2012.
Since that time, Dr. Bottorff has practiced high quality medical and interventional cardiology in private practice throughout the Pacific Northwest. He also has extensive experience in telemedicine and remote cardiology, serving as a consultant cardiologist for various ultrasound and imaging groups since 2014.

Zachary Bassett DVM, DACVR
Dr. Bassett has a longstanding interest in veterinary diagnostic imaging. While working
on his undergraduate degree he worked as a student worker in the radiology
department at the Texas A&M University Veterinary Hospital. He began his career by
attending veterinary school at Texas A&M University. Following veterinary school, he
completed a small animal rotating internship at North Carolina State University. He was
fortunate to return to Texas A&M University and complete a residency in diagnostic
imaging. During his residency, he pursued his interest in cross-sectional imaging by
focusing his research on rapid acquisition of MRI sequences in small breed dogs with
intervertebral disc herniation. Following residency, he has worked as a contractor for
multiple telemedicine companies, a clinician in a large specialty referral center, and
locum at his alma mater.

Nicolas Berryessa DVM, DACVIM (SAIM)
Dr. Berryessa has practiced as a small animal internal medicine clinician at a busy Emergency and Specialty hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, for almost 20 years. He earned his veterinary degree from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine and did his residency training at the University of California, Davis. Dr. Berryessa’s clinical interests are endocrinology, gastrointestinal disease, infectious diseases, and interventional procedures. He continues to live in the Atlanta area where he enjoys running, hiking, drinking great coffee and traveling around the country with his veterinary neurologist wife, three children and their dog Raya. They also have two guinea pigs, a bearded dragon and a horse named Moose.
